Seton Medical Center Harker Heights is an 83-bed acute care hospital offering services such as Cardiology, Emergency Services and a Level IV Trauma Designated ER, General Surgery, Orthopedic Surgery, Total Joint Replacement, Gastroenterology, Diagnostic Services and more.

Responsibilities:
Demonstrates effective communication skills appropriate to a professional atmosphere relevant to the patient’s condition
Communicates physiologic as well as psychosocial status of the patient/family
Implements care/treatments based on prescribed plan
Provides competent care for the patient requiring medication administration
Provides competent care for the patient requiring clinical equipment or devices
Provides competent care for the patient requiring procedures
Evaluates care rendered for effectiveness
Ensures appropriate codes, modifiers and charges are on ticket for treatments administered
Maintains knowledge of current insurance and managed care requirements to ensure coverage
Maintains sensitive and confidential information appropriately
Ensures patient phone calls are returned in a timely manner relevant to Rx refills, lab and x-ray results
Assists with maintaining adequate supplies/stock for efficient clinic operations
Demonstrates ability to be flexible, organized and function in stressful situations
Continually seeks ways to improve processes and add value to department
Maintains knowledge of clinic operations, maintenance, and security as related to daily opening and closing
Must be able to work in a fast paced environment and adapt to rapidly changing situations
Must be able to quickly evaluate and prioritize requests of staff and physicians
Ability to deal with employees, patients, physicians and visitors in stressful situations
Must be well versed in HIPAA laws and keep patient documentation and information confidential
Ability to multi-task constantly and tolerate interruptions
Ability to function in an occasionally hostile environment with patients/customers who are ill or hurt
Must be willing to work as part of a cohesive medical team to care for patients and deliver exceptional customer service
Mentorship of new clinical employees, verifying competencies by assessing and validating Wellstone clinical staff before placement into clinics or departments.
Conducts routine roundings with all clinics with timely and accurate report assessment
Implement annual training schedule
Conducts monthly clinic audits with timely and accurate report assessment
Other professional and administrative duties as requested.
Qualifications:
Job Requirements:
High School Diploma or equivalent
1-3 Years of clinical training experience
Certified Medical Assistant Certification Or Licensed Vocational Nurse with Texas Board of Nursing
Proficient with Electronic Health Records
BLS certification thru American Heart Association or American Red Cross
Preferred Job Requirements:
Three (3) years of experience in clinic setting
