We are looking for two, 12 hour shift workers.
6pm-6am.
Awake Night Staff stay awake throughout their shift.
They ensure residents adhere to safe night sleeping schedule.
There may be times a child cannot sleep and you may need to assure them to try and go back to sleep gently or sit and talk with them if needed.
They are responsible for always knowing the whereabouts of each child and for cottage and individual cleanliness.
In addition, they ensure documentation of cottage life, incidents, resident behavior, medical needs, and treatment observations in appropriate charts.
You will have a muster meeting with house parents at the beginning of your shift to go over the status of each child.
You will also have a muster meeting at the end of your shift with house parent to go over the events of the evening.
In the event of an emergency, call 911 without permission from house parent and after the call, wake the house parent if you are not assisting a child until an ambulance will arrive.
Rarely, we may all be called to participate in an unforeseen task outside of our job description in the event of an emergency.
Due to the nature of our work, all team members must be agreeable to this.

Job duties:
* • Able to lift 40 lbs
* • Light cleaning and tidying cottage home quietly
* • Quiet bed checks every 20 min, (peeking through cracked door) Do not enter the child’s room unless you cannot see the child.
Be mindful that a lot of trauma has happened to children at nighttime.
We want to minimize any triggers.
* • Do not ever answer the door for anyone other than DFPS.
Have them show their badge through the camera first.
Answer the door within 5 minutes if DFPS arrives to check on children.
* • Keep watch on security monitors of outer and inner parameter of the home.
Do not hesitate to call police if you see anyone on the property unauthorized.
Qualifications:
* • 21 or older
* • Valid drivers license
* • Pass a background check and Diana Screen
* • Pass a drug test and TB test
* • Have and maintain automobile liability insurance
* • Emotionally intelligent communication skills
2-week mandatory Preservice Training with exams and certifications:
* • 1-week orientation to learn all BA policies and procedures
* • 4-day TBRI training (trauma-informed training)
* • 2 days SAMA EBI training
* • 2 hrs of Normalcy
* • Psychotropic Medication course
* • Safe Sleeping
* • Recognizing, and reporting abuse, sexual abuse, neglect and exploitation
* • Emergency Procedures
* • Preventing the spread of communicable dieases
* • Location of fire extiguishers and first-aid
* • Developmental phases of children
* • Loving and kind guidance for discipline
* • Water Safety
* • Monitoring and working with our youth
* • Age-appropriate activities

Pay: $18.
