SIGN-ON BONUS AVAILABLE - UP TO $7500 ENHANCED WAGES FOR PULMONARY UNIT - PAID TRAINING PROVIDED!! RESPONSIBILITIES: To provide nursing care to residents as prescribed by the physician and in accordance with standards of nursing practices, regulations and directed by the Director of Nursing.
To lead or direct licensed and non-professional staff in delivery of direct Resident care and support functions.
QUALIFICATIONS: · Must have current LVN license · CPR certification required · Ability to understand, remember, and carry out verbal or written instructions in English · Ability to complete assignments in a timely manner · Ability to be flexible and positive with intermittent interruptions ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: · To assure resident safety · Provides the best possible nursing care by planning, organizing, and directing the nursing functions of patients in the unit · Makes nursing assignments appropriate to the skill level of employees · Maintains acceptable standards of patient care · Identifies problems and guides personnel to their solution · Creates a working climate that provides growth and job satisfaction of personnel · Accurately and promptly implements physicians’ orders · Supports and enforces infection-control policies and procedures · Is able to use PCC system to convey/receive resident information · Maintains a professional approach with confidentiality · Cooperates and maintains good rapport with nursing staff, medical staff, other departments, and visitors · Obtains and documents nursing history from the patient and/or significant other that is comprehensive of present condition and prior problems · Performs basic assessment of the patient, indicating adequate knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and pathology · Records vital signs, notes changes, and pursues more-specific investigation as needed · Assesses for and notifies physician and other appropriate parties of changes in condition · Uses assessment information to develop a care plan before the end of duty time that communicates enough information for incoming personnel to adequately care for the patient · Uses care plans as a basis for providing safe and therapeutic care to patients · Consistently follows established standards, policies, and procedures in providing nursing care · Accepts accountability for clinical care of assigned patients, including supervision of nonprofessional personnel · Communicates with the patient and his or her family and other members of the health care team in carrying out the goals of the care plan · Performs competently those technical skills considered basic to the type of care given in that unit · Responds appropriately in urgent and/or emergency situations · Supports standards of nursing care through adherence to existing policies and procedures · Seeks guidance when encountering nursing procedures and responsibilities that have not been mastered · Promotes positive public relations with patients, residents, family members and guests · Uses tactful, appropriate communications in sensitive and emotional situations · Use appropriate workplace behavior · Know and participate in the facility emergency preparedness plan · Adhere to dress code.
· Perform other duties/tasks as may be assigned.
· Complete and/or attend required in-service training.
· Communicate in a professional and courteous manner using effective verbal and non-verbal communication skills with residents, their families, and team members.
· Maintain confidentiality of department, resident, employee information, communication, and documentation as well as compliance with the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) regulations.
· Clock in and out for all working/training hours.
Working off the clock is not permitted at any time or for any reason.
· Maintain compliance with company’s Compliance program and plan.
· Adhere to the Abri Code of Conduct · These duties are not all-inclusive but provide minimum performance expectations and are reviewed in the performance process.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Have the ability to safely perform movements such as pushing, pulling, lifting, bending, kneeling, reaching, and lifting up to 50 pounds with or without reasonable accommodations WORK SCHEDULE: As assigned; including some weekends, holidays, and evenings.
