RESPONSIBILITIES: Responsible for ensuring all linens and personal clothes are properly sorted, washed, and dried to specifications, in order to prevent damage, cross-contamination and infection.
QUALIFICATIONS:
· Physical ability to lift/carry equipment, supplies, etc.

· Previous cleaning experience in a long-term care/skilled nursing facility setting preferred.
· Effective communication and interpersonal skills are necessary.
OTHER DUTIES:
· Utilizes protective gear in all appropriate functions
· Perform a variety of tasks, including collecting and sorting soiled linen, loading, and unloading machines, and folding clean linen.
· Operates computer-operated washers and dryers.
· Responsibilities include counting and recording the linen processed each day, making proper deliveries to units and, cleaning and sanitizing the work area including machines, worktables, and sorting area.
· Performs laundry activities within well established guidelines to ensure that quality standards, safety guidelines and customer service expectations are met.
· Delivers personal clothing to the appropriate resident.
· Reports equipment/cleaning product needs and or malfunctions to supervisor in a timely fashion.
· Responsible for the safe and proper use of detergents and adheres to all safety precautions.
· Is able to follow oral and written instructions, is pleasant, tactful and courteous and cooperative with supervisor, co-workers, residents and client staff.
· Work involves pulling and pushing, carrying weight up to 50 pounds, twisting, bending, and reaching from floor to waist height and from waist to chest level.
· Know and participate in the facility emergency preparedness plan
· Adhere to dress code.
· Perform other duties/tasks as may be assigned.
· Complete and/or attend required in-service training.
· Communicate in a professional and courteous manner using effective verbal and non-verbal communication skills with residents, their families, and team members.
· Maintain confidentiality of department, resident, employee information, communication, and documentation as well as compliance with the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) regulations.
· Clock in and out for all working/training hours.
Working off the clock is not permitted at any time or for any reason.
· Maintain compliance with company’s Compliance program and plan.
· Adhere to the Abri Code of Conduct
· These duties are not all-inclusive but provide minimum performance expectations and are reviewed in the performance process.
WORK SCHEDULE: As assigned; including some weekends, holidays, and evenings.
