*Essential Duties:*
Provide individual and group substance abuse counseling to offenders in a Substance Abuse Treatment Facility.
Teach cognitive based educational classes.
Provide effective case management of offenders
Complete timely assessments and treatment plans
Work effectively in a unique team oriented environment
Communicates effectively in a positive, respectful, and courteous manner
Document events accurately and timely in treatment files
Understands and maintains private and sensitive information
Adhere to department policy and procedure manual
Additional duties as determined by specific assignment or as designated by the Director
Utilizes knowledge of Federal, State and local ordinances and policies to support recovery
*Physical Demands:*
Position involves prolonged writing, typing, sitting, standing, walking, reaching, twisting, turning, kneeling, bending, stooping and some lifting in the performance of daily activities
*Environmental Factors:*
Contact with persons convicted of felony crimes to include room searches
Urinalysis testing
Tobacco-Free workplace policy
*Minimum Requirements:*
LCDC, LPC or LMSW
One year experience in Counseling in a treatment setting
As required by law and TDCJ-CJAD standards
*Preferred Qualifications:*
Prior experience working with the adult offender population
*Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) Status:*
Hourly
*Salary and Benefits: *$46,000.
