Knife River has an excellent opportunity for a Plant Supervisor at our Honey Creek Quarry!
This position is responsible for all quarry related aspects at the site including Safety, Environmental, Operations, Quality, and employee relations.
The quarry supervisor is an operational professional who understands the value of planning and processes and takes a disciplined approach to execution.
Minimum Qualifications:
-3-5 years’ experience in Aggregates or Mining
-Previous supervisory experience
-High level understanding of MSHA rules and regulations
-Proficiency with Excel and Word
-Knowledge of processing methods and planning techniques
-Strong blasting expertise
-Must be able to troubleshoot by using strong analytical skills
-Must have solid communication skills to communicate effectively in writing and in person
-Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen and physical
-Must meet Knife River-South employment standards with regards to background/MVR checks
-Must be able to work overtime and be flexible with hours (daytime/nighttime)
-Ability to work outside in all seasons
-Must have a “safety first” attitude - strict adherence to safety requirements and procedures is required

Duties and/or Responsibilities:
- To keep equipment running and maintained properly to maximize production and quality
- Troubleshoot and complete maintenance & repairs on equipment, as needed
- Report information accurately on timecard, repair orders, and other reports daily
- Coordinates with equipment manufacturers regarding spare parts & maintenance requirements
- Coordinate with outside contractors on maintenance projects for the plant
- Ensures that repair work during plant breakdown is carried out in the least time possible
- Plan for preventive maintenance and ensure that maintenance procedures are implemented systematically
- Help identify root cause of problems and effectively initiate immediate corrective action to prevent reoccurrence
- Ensure safety rules and regulations are being followed through
- Performs other duties as assigned
Physical Requirements:
- Extensive walking on uneven surfaces
- Exposure to dust, fumes, odors
- Hand eye coordination
- Exposure to mists, adhesives, acids
- Frequent and/or extended periods requiring kneeling, bending, and/or twisting
- Working in all weather conditions for extended period of time
