Orthodontic Assistant - Traveling
Part Time
POSITION OVERVIEW: The Orthodontic Assistant will support doctors during treatment exams and all necessary functions.
RDAs are responsible for performing all duties of a Registered Dental Assistant while providing quality customer service and maintaining a professional relationship and positive attitude with co-workers and patients alike.
This position will be responsible for and do the following:
Greet and prepare patients for dental care
Assist the orthodontist at the chair while they are engaged in any treatment of patients
Excellent communication skills
Must anticipate the orthodontist's needs and be prepared for the next steps
Removal and placement of arch wires
Tooth preparation prior to bonding
Accurate computer charting
Sterilization of chairs and instruments
Responsible for oral hygiene instructions
Placement and removal of brackets
Take panoramic and cephalometric x-rays as well as oral photographs
Undertake lab tasks as instructed
Requirements
EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum high school diploma or equivalent
Knowledge of dental terminology and dental procedures
Familiar with Sterilization
Familiar with OSHA guidelines and procedures
Experience in a professional environment with direct patient contact preferred
Previous experience required
