I bought this Gretsch Renown 5-piece drum kit new in late 2021.
They have been very lightly used with mesh heads (not included) in my practice room.
The Piano Black lacquer finish and chrome are indistinguishable from new, the original Remo USA heads (coated Ambassador on the snare and clear Emperors on the toms) are new, and the drums have not left my smoke free, pet free home.
I still have the original boxes.
I have been playing drums for 58 years and, in my opinion, Gretsch Renown’s offer the absolute best value for dollars spent a drummer can find.
If Gretsch USA’s are not in your budget, these are a close second choice.
They have 7-ply North American maple shells, silver-sealer finished interiors, Remo USA heads, and feature the exact same double flanged 302 hoops that are on the Gretsch Brooklyn model.
In my opinion, price is the most significant difference between Gretsch Renown and Gretsch Brooklyn drums.
This is a smaller sized kit, 20” x 16” bass, 14” x 14” floor tom with legs, 10” x 7” and 12” x 8” mounted toms with bass mount, and 14” x 5.
5” snare.
The drums sound incredible, deliver plenty of punch, yet they are easy to carry and will fit nicely on a small bandstand or in a practice room.
Also included are brand new Humes & Berg Galaxy padded bags for each drum (used only for storage).
Note: the snare bag is 8” deep which accommodates the snare drum along with a round throne seat (seat not included).
$1,200.
00 cash for a great set of drums and padded bags that are absolutely like brand new.
If you are reading the ad, the drums are still for sale.
Note: The DW 6000 Series Hardware shown in some of the photos is available (for an additional $500.
00) with the drums and bags.
Hardware includes: DW 6000 Series Snare Stand, DW 6000 Series Hi-Hat Stand, three (3) DW 6000 Series Flat Base Cymbal Stands, DW 6000 Series Kick Pedal (collapses for travel or storage), a DW Backpack Hardware Bag, and a DW 3100 Throne with round, padded seat.
All hardware including the pedal and throne base fits into the backpack bag.
Together, the drums and hardware make for an easy carry, fast set-up, fast tear-down kit a working drummer can appreciate.
