Irish Setter

Guinness is a 3-year-old AKC Irish Setter.
He is a sweet high-energy boy who likes to cuddle & LOVES to play fetch.
Needs an active household with a fenced backyard or someone willing to take him on runs/walks.
He is crate-trained and knows basic commands, but needs some work on a leash.
A gentle lead/nose harness has worked wonders with him so far.
Not good with cats but has been great with all other dogs.
From our observations, he is too high energy for small kids, but would probably be great with older kids.
He is potty trained, but we’ve been keeping a belly band on him in the house due to marking issues because of our cat.
He is not neutered but has a standing appointment at the Dallas SPCA for a low-cost neuter appointment on January 24th so we could transfer that appointment to your name after adoption if you wanted.
We took him in as an emergency rescue 3 weeks ago and he needs to put on around 10 more lbs.
Very food motivated so that should help with training.
On monthly flea and tick prevention, heart guard, & and up-to-date on shots (will provide his vaccination record) Our primary reason for rehoming is we were told he is good with cats and he is not, he loves to chase and won’t leave them alone so needs to go to a home without them.
He is a good boy who is eager to please but needs some patience and an active household.
Rehoming fee to guarantee he goes to a good home.
