Responsibilities:
Position Information: Serves as a Clinical Laboratory Scientist with duties in Point of Care Testing and Quality Assurance.
Reviews daily Quality Control data, resolving most issues and elevating those that cannot be resolved.
Performs quality control testing, proficiency testing, verification and correlation studies, and equipment maintenance.
Develops, performs, evaluates, interprets, correlates, and validates the accuracy of laboratory procedures and results ensuring all laboratory regulatory requirements are met.
Performs preventative maintenance, periodic inspection and performance testing of equipment and instruments together with the maintenance of appropriate records.
Calibrates, standardizes, and maintains instruments.
Coordinates the handling and results of Proficiency Testing specimens.
Trains medical staff in the use of Point of Care tests.
Performs Other Duties as Assigned.
Qualifications:

S Citizenship required
Experience:
Preferred three years of experience with point of care testing and general laboratory experience.
This position requires a job-related certification.
You must submit a copy of your certification with your application package.
Certification:
Certification from American Society of Clinical Pathology (ASCP), American Medical Technologist (AMT), or other board or registry deemed comparable by the Office of the Assistant Secretary of Defense for Health Affairs or their designee as a Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) is required.
This position has a mandatory seasonal influenza vaccination requirement and is therefore subject to annual seasonal influenza vaccinations.
Applicants tentatively selected for appointment to this position will be required to sign a statement (Condition of Employment) consenting to seasonal influenza vaccinations.
