Responsibilities
Lead assigned staff in performing activities related to patient registration.
Schedule staff to optimize departmental resources and productivity.
Order and maintain appropriate supplies.
Confirm insurance coverage.
Determine necessity for pre-authorization and obtain authorization for scheduled procedures.
Determine financial responsibility for service to be provided.
Communicate with patient and practitioner regarding financial responsibility and insurance coverage issues, and notify them of any services requested and/or referred that are not authorized by insurance.
Keep abreast of insurance company changes and updates.
Communicate these changes to staff.
Requirements
Education:
High School diploma equivalency with 1 year of experience OR 2 years of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.
Note: Required professional licensure/certification and 1 year of experience can be used in lieu of education, if applicable.
