As a senior leader within Variety of Texas, the Director of Programs plays a pivotal role in shaping and executing our mission.
Reporting directly to the Executive Director, this position is responsible for driving the development, implementation, and management of all programs and initiatives, ensuring the smooth operation of a camp accredited by the American Camp Association (ACA).

Key Responsibilities: Provide visionary leadership to cultivate a positive camp culture aligned with Variety of Texas's mission and values.
Collaborate with the Leadership Team to develop and execute a strategic plan for organizational growth and enhancement.
Foster a strong sense of community among campers, staff, and families.
Design, implement, and oversee diverse and engaging programs tailored to meet the needs and interests of participants.
Ensure program compliance with ACA standards and regulations.
Continuously evaluate and update program offerings based on participant feedback and industry trends.
Recruit, hire, train, and supervise a team of qualified and motivated camp staff.
Facilitate ongoing professional development opportunities for staff members.
Establish and enforce comprehensive safety protocols in accordance with ACA guidelines.
Manage the camp budget to ensure fiscal responsibility and sustainability.
Implement cost-effective strategies to optimize resources and revenue.
Prepare regular reports for the leadership team, Board of Directors, and funding organizations.
Establish performance metrics and evaluation processes to measure program impact and success.
Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with external partners, donors, and community stakeholders.
Collaborate with the development team to secure funding and grants to support program initiatives.
Maintain open and transparent communication with partners and stakeholders.
Act as a liaison between Variety and external stakeholders, such as the ACA and local community.
Ensure adherence to ACA accreditation standards and maintain up-to-date documentation.
Coordinate and participate in ACA accreditation visits and inspections.
Ensure program compliance with relevant regulations and standards, including those set by the Texas Department of State Health Services.
Implement quality assurance and continuous improvement processes.
Serve as an advocate for the organization within the community, promoting awareness and support for Variety's mission.
Participate in relevant community events and represent the organization at public forums.

Qualifications: Strong organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills.

Must hold a valid Driver’s License.
Must pass an annual criminal background check and child abuse awareness training course.
Must own a smartphone.
Required Certifications (or willingness to obtain): First Aid/CPR Certification.
Lifeguard Certification (preferred).
Bachelor’s degree (or commensurate experience) in education, recreation, outdoor leadership, or a related field (preferred).
Previous experience in camp administration or a related leadership role.
ACA Camp Director Certification (or willingness to obtain).
Position Details: Full-Time Exempt Position.
40+ Hours per Week.
